Image Artist Statement: Anastasia Ponyatovskaya graduated as an artist from the college in Sankt-Petersburg, Russia and Academy of art in Moldova. After joining the Union of Artists in 2004, she has become widely revered for her unique style and imagination and has participated in many art exhibitions across the world, including: Moldova, UK, Russia, Germany, Latvia, Malta, Gozo, and Italy.

Since 2005, Anastasia Ponyatovskaya has been living in Malta and she finds that this country is full
of legendary and beautiful places, which are very inspiring for creations. She presents new and original
artworks in postmodernism fantasy/fairy tale styles. In her art she tries to rethink heritage & old traditions, and bring new inspiration in her work.

At her website (http://www.arteforte.net) are some Maltese series, which are united into one theme: "Malta in Fantasy."  Fantastical Maltese archipelagos have become a favorite subject of her artistic creation works. Her "Nymphs of Comino" series has been inspired by the magical aura of the Maltese islands, and of women of beauty. The works are made in oil paint and soft pastel. Her work also features many phantasmagoric creatures: Unicorns, Sirens, Mermaids, and flying ships - which could be inhabited on spellbound Islands. The landscapes of this enchanting place in the middle of the warm gentle sea are full of bright colors and a festive mood.

Many of Anastasia's work is for sale at her website; all items perfectly fit in interiors and can be a real treasure for any person who is interested in art.

About Emily Habermehl: Artist Statement

My main focus in art is color, design and composition. I have a true passion for color as the art subject itself - how colors fit together, how they communicate with each other within the design, how certain colors combined with one another evoke a certain feeling - this is paramount in my work. I am a social worker, artist and poet living in Austin, TX.   Read More...
