Biography: Jessica Burke was born in Wichita, Kansas in 1976. She received her Masters degree in Painting from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro in 2005. This summer she was asked to become a part of Appalachian State University's Art Department, Drawing faculty. Her work is represented in private and public collections throughout the United States. In regards to her images, she agrees with Anselm Kiefer who said, "I believe art has to take responsibility but it should not give up being art."
