this world has taken so much of her the sister she held hands with even in sleep, the hero who told her he'd never let go
as he drove her away from the scene of the crime his mind a blueprint of the days they would have
she has given miles miles of men and women everything except sex and the incense she uses to summon her own, she has fed them all but her bones
she has kept the dust of both homes in lockets of tin like simple pleasures mixed with sin - medals melted down to fillings to fill her teeth for her smile is hers
she has kept one pinned to her skin to remember her strange palace of within, how many miles from sleep she has gone through to return to her childhood bed
