I've given birth at last! At long, long last!

What an intensely beautiful and excruciatingly painful nine months this has been! The conception process was amazing (as ever)! The anticipation was sweet in the extreme. Ah, but the birthing pangs and the waiting, the crazy waiting, seemed endless! Alas, nine months later, as in all healthy pregnancies, my baby is born and is she ever beautiful! Wanna meet her?

In May of 2006 I was mulling over some brainstorming conversations I had been having with my truly incredible husband and my amazingly supportive coach. The conversations had to do with my "niche." I've never had much interest in the strict adherence to niche marketing, as I love the fact that my passion and work is something that all people with ambition to grow and thrive can relate to. If you know me, you are aware that I have been assisting people to access their most powerful potential for several years now in my work as a life coach, consultant, and speaker.

It's a compelling and magical calling and that passion still remains strong and healthy within me. However, I did feel a true shift, a moment of conception if you will, in May of 2006. I began to realize, that whether I wanted a niche market or not, one already existed for me. I had attracted that niche without even realizing it. The problem was that I couldn't put my finger on the people that comprised this "niche." I realized this lack of clarity with a growing intensity. Two questions kept resounding within my heart and mind: First, who are these people at their core; and second, what commonalities do they possess that draw them to me? What I knew for sure was that my clients sensed a kindred spirit in me. They also recognized that I would be and was an authentic resource in enriching and enhancing their lives. That was a start.

There was a waiting, a culmination period in which I held these things in my heart, while continuing to do the work I love. Then, in a single sudden moment of silence, it came to me! The wonderful people I was attracting as clients just so happened to also be women who found themselves very naturally in positions of leadership. They are natural born leaders.

Like me, my clients are the one person that friends, family members, and colleagues turn to whenever they need a listening ear, someone to laugh with, a shoulder to cry on, advice, or some form of mentoring. Since they are often in the role of supporting others many, though certainly not all, of these natural born leaders have appropriately chosen complementary careers, such as life coaching, managing, owning a business, or the like. It is also true that these invaluable women, these natural born leaders, often find themselves depleted and in search of the same kind of support they so naturally offer to others.

I came to realize that the needs my clients have to further develop their own personal support system is what draws these natural born leaders to me as their coach. I adore my clients and am devoted to being their biggest champion, sounding board, confidant, and, most importantly, their soft place to land. In this light, I devoted my intentions to creating a place for all women who are natural born leaders to come for renewal, revitalization and relaxation of their body, mind, and spirit.

The first step was to give these women of influence a fun but powerful title that would capture the essence of who they are. That title came to me like an inspiration that flooded my heart and very essence. I knew, have somehow seemed always to know, that these women are in fact "Leading Ladies!" Incredible Leading Ladies!

The next trick was to create, with great intention, a place where these women leaders could come to bask in rich, meaningful and personal pampering and self-care. (The very thing I regularly work on with each of my clients.) This special place needed to be playful (which I have personally discovered is deeply important to all natural born leaders) while also providing resources for masterful self-care to restore the "joi de vivre" (joy of life) for the body, mind, and spirit. This renewal is essential for all Leading Ladies.

With the preceding intentions, my "baby" was conceived and, while I searched for the perfect name and home, she waited, admittedly at times impatiently, to be brought into this world. Finally, she has arrived. Drum roll please! Her name is Leading Ladies and her new home is LeadingLadiesLounge.com, which I sometimes lovingly refer to as either "The Lounge" or just "LLL." It's amazing but true; the birth of Leading Ladies and her home base, LeadingLadiesLounge.com, is now complete. Lounge at the Lounge my wonderful Leading Ladies.
