A week had gone by since she made her New Year's resolutions and all the intentions she set forth had already been forgotten. Another year was about to slip through her fingers again.
How could she let herself down like this?
What likelihood do we have of accomplishing our goals if they're not in front of us at all times? If we don't keep our dreams within our reach each and every day, we don't stand a chance. One of the best ways to do this is to create a vision board.
Exactly what is a vision board? It's a pictorial representation of the goals and dreams we'd like to make manifest in our lives. Using pictures, symbols, and words, the poster-sized collage helps us keep our focus.
The point of the vision board isn't simply to visualize these goals and dreams, but to emote them and act upon them. We must train ourselves to look at the board and feel as if the transformation has already happened. It is not a wishing well, but rather a magic carpet ride, where we generate the right vibration to attract and put into motion that which we desire.
When we accept full responsibility for transforming our world, we will come into our true creative power.
Materials: paper & pencil for brainstorming; large foam core board (white, black or color); variety of magazines; pictures downloaded & printed from the Internet; scissors; glue stick
Directions: Begin by clarifying what you'd like to manifest in the following categories: career, relationships, physical health, finances, spirituality, emotional wellbeing, recreation/hobbies and charity/contribution. Once you have your goals in front of you, look through magazines and the Internet for images or symbols that represent them. Be very clear and as detailed as possible as to what you'd like to bring forth. All of your thinking should be done in the positive. For example, don't say, "I don't want to struggle paying bills," but rather, "I want to have an abundance of wealth." Think and act from a positive place, for this is the only language the creative universe understands.
Once you've pasted up your board, place it where you will see it everyday. This can be over your desk, in front of your treadmill, on your bedroom ceiling - wherever it suits you best. Put your body in a relaxed, meditative state whenever you look at your board and relate to each image with an "I am" statement. I am fit and healthy. I am worth 6 million dollars. I am traveling on a Mediterranean cruise.
Visualize yourself as if this were true. Involve all your senses. See, hear, taste, feel, and smell what these dreams feel like. Be in gratitude, for positive feelings bring positive vibrations that attract positive outcome.
Increase the power of your vision board by taking it on the road with you. Photograph or scan your board to the computer and make it your screensaver. Print out a small version of it and place a copy on your dashboard and in your wallet. Each time you look at the vision board, feel as if it represents your current reality.
The third and final step is the action part you must do to bring forth results. Chunk down each step into small bits, easy tasks. This is the mechanical part. See any failed attempts as learning experiences to move forward from. Keep your eyes opened for anyone or anything that aligns with your goals and take advantage of each opportunity that comes your way. Be in action each day to bring yourself closer to your dreams, and the universe will meet you halfway. Everything is possible.
