About the Narration

I know, I know, the "Narrator Review" is supposed to come after the book review, but I can't help myself. I love Arianna Huffington's voice! I was delighted to discover that she was the reader for this audiobook - and my initial delight never waned throughout my listening experience. The author's voice alone embodies the strength, femininity and rich personal empowerment behind her message. I would be remiss if I didn't also mention her beautiful, and dare I say sensual, Greek accent which to my ear, is like "buttuh" (you know, "butter" but with a Saturday Night Live, Barbara Streisand twist). For those who have never heard or spoken with Huffington, I also feel compelled to note how wonderfully articulate and full of life she is. I suppose you're getting the message that this reviewer is likin' the voice of the narrator, so I'll move on.

The Review

Arianna Huffington, a nationally syndicated columnist, approaches this book from an autobiographical, deeply personal perspective. She not only encourages women to actively become "fearless" but she also shares her own journey through fear into a place of fearlessness. Throughout the book, she consistently shares the thoughts of other women, other sages, who have experienced and conquered an array of fears in their own lives.

One thing that I noted and deeply appreciate about the author's message is her genuine honesty and transparency. She acknowledges her own very human propensity towards fear and the ways she has been able to master, or continue to master, the fears that we naturally face in a multitude of areas. Since she does approach fearlessness from a wide range, including family, faith, relationships, spirituality, etc., it is also refreshing to experience her candor about her own position in life. For example, when she talks about being fearless in relationships, she notes that she is currently not in a long-term relationship but that she has experienced genuine romantic love and has many friends who know the beauty and power of being fearless in their own long-term, committed relationships and/or marriages. She doesn't claim to be an "expert" but seems rather to see herself as an "advocate" of "becoming fearless." She is powerful in that role.

Even if you, like this reviewer, feel that you live your life from a place of empowerment and courageousness, {quotes}I believe you will find this read intelligent, energizing, and inspiring.{/quotes} If you happen to be in a place in your own personal journey where you are feeling mastered by, rather than the master of, your fears, this is a must read. Thank you, Arianna, for being a messenger of the truth that becoming a fearless and empowered women of today is not only possible but also powerful and richly fulfilling!

I'll close this review with the author's own words -

"Women have so much potential, yet we hold ourselves back. If my daughters, and women of all ages, are to take their rightful place in society, they must become fearless."

Orna Ben-Shoshan: Artist Statement

As an auto-deduct artist, my work is not attached to any particular location or timeframe, and it’s free from any familiar set of rules. My creation is a medium of transferring knowledge about things that are beyond linear time and thinking.

It is said that observing metaphysical art induces lucidity and reduces stress. Many people who view my artwork comment that they can deeply connect to what they see, even though they do not necessarily understand it. In others it simply evokes positive and uplifting feelings as they are influenced by it subconsciously.
